Last year, there were lots of times when I felt like giving up due to the intense pressure as well as after seeing my friends’ artwork. I am very grateful that all the effort had been paid off. I hope to be able to apply the same thing again this year. That I hope I will just give my best no matter what happens and do not be let down if others do better than I do but instead take it as an opportunity and motivation for me to improve from my mistakes or and weaknesses. I have learned several things from last week in which I believed are imperative. 1. I tried to merge my ideas with an existing one: the Marina Barrage as the structure itself has alot of environmental importance such as flood control and desalination. Im quite happy of my drawing though it needs more improvement
2. I see that I need to improve my drawing as it is horrible and I think I need to be more creative. I also think I need to research on the concepts and understand them properly so I can apply them to my art assignments. I hope I will be able to practise with them.
3. I hope to learn more on how to properly express my message and ideas. I hope that i will be able to put in more creative ideas into the sculpture.
1) For a first drawing, I think I did quite well it gave me a good reference to how my sculpture would look like and allowed me to explore more ideas from there.
2) However my drawing lacked details like textures and shading. The sculpture also did not convey a clear and strong message
3) I would like to learn more about techniques in drawing and more about the conceptualisation process so that i can create better, more unique sculpture ideas
1)I am aware of the various environmental issues which may harm Mother Nature in time to come. I am able to apply my knowledge to meet the theme of our Artwork.

1) From my drawing, i can see the general ideea that i wanted to convey through the artwork. having reserched on the environmental issue i had decided to do, i will be able to apply it to my artwork.
2) I feel that my drawing is not up to standard as it lacks lots of details. I will need to pay more attention in art lessons so that i will learn to draw well so that others will understand my drawing.
3) Creativity is not the problem, but how to express my creativity is the problem! i would like to learn more about the techniques of drawing so that i can draw better.
1. i'm able to do my drawings as we had already did our research to look for environmental pictures and from the pictures, we are able to copy the features of the animals/plants. 2. as we did not attend any drawing lessons, i did not know how to draw the features of the animals well and hence, it does not look realistic. 3. i want to learn on how to draw animals so that i can draw my drawings nicely.
1. i went to search for pictures on the internet thus understanding the environmental problem better. i also got a rough idea what i wanted to do for my sculpture.
2. it didn't turn out nicely as my animals and plants didn't have the 3D effect.
3. i want to learn how to draw my animals and plants more life like so that my sculpture will be nicer
1.Firstly, i had to go to the internet and print out pictures of environmental issues such as global warming or water pollution.15 of them was needed. Then, in class we had to refer to the pictures and extract ideas from them. For example, if i want to draw a polar bear, i can refer to a picture, showing a polar bear and copy its features. Having a clear mind on what environmental issue i want to do on also helped me.
2.My drawing did not turn what i had expected it to be. Probably because i didn't attend any classes on drawing animals or the environment. Thus, the polar bear that i drew did not look realistic and the paw(hand)looked weird.
3.I wish to learn how to draw animals and maybe how to colour or mix the colours crrectly so that the drawing would look realistic.
1) I found it quite amazing that I was able to finish the drawing in 15 minutes. It was challenging as my ideas were limited and it was not easy to express it in terms of art.
2)My drawing was not very good as it looks dull without shading and other elements of art. The drawing was general and did not manage to bring out the message well.
3)I wish to learn some methods that can make my art look more realistic.
1) yay first time drawing that bird and i drew it nicely. i prefer to use wooden pencils :P 2) ya..umm, i think the oil drops were a bit..."off" i guess i need to get some reference pics, cuz i do SO much better with models rather drawing something i imagined in my head... 3) i wish i knew more about the bird i drew (little egret), like a close encounter, cuz whenever i see it in the canal, it will just fly away before i can get a close look :( i wish i could see what real oil splats look like. cuz i didnt know how to draw them, how the "flow" of it looked..
1.)i think i did not bad for my first drawing of a sculpture which i limited myself to only 15 minutes...it was quite hard to think of an idea but in the end i managed to ooze 1 out of my punee brain.i think we should really feel contented with what we did as each of us have our own uniqueness and if we do something wrong...we can just pick ourselves up and learn from there. 2.)i think my drawing definitely needs improvement as i find that i need to conceal the meaning of my sculpture mpre so that somebody who sees it will not straight away know what my message is and not bother to look at my artist statement at all.other than that i think i need to improve on the simplicity of my drawing...it is too simple and easy to make...i should make it slightly complicated so that there is a hiddebn meaning behind it. 3.0lastly, i would like to learn more about the cinceptualisation process and maybe try to learn how to draw shapes and things better...i'm jut sooo bad at drawing...=)
My issue is on marine life like turtles and dolphins are being trapped in the fishing nets which are also known as ghost nets.I think that i'll be using nets, plastic bottles and light bulbs. I learnt earlier last month how to reuse platic bottles to make a lamp from an organization for people with disabilities. The plastic bottles and the bulbs signify the life of these marine creatures n the nets will be wrapped around the lamp.I have not yet try to explore with other materials though. For the kinetic sculpture,i'm currently researching on the possible materials to create it.It will probably be tricky though.Still i think that it would be fun and cool + challenging to try on something like that.:D Karittha
1)i have already done 1 drawing of the sculpture. but, i am not content with what i have drawn as with one look at it, people will know what i am trying to address. it does not make people think. and, if my sculpture does not make people think, they will simply not bother about what message i am trying to get accross. thus, i need to improve on that. 2)i would also like to learn more about how to draw things or pictures we see. ~Sasha Anisha (2A)
1) My environmental issue is land pollution by human beings which results in global warming. I feel that probably my sculpture could be made of recycled materials. 2)Maybe, i can present the sculpture as one which is filled with all the materials i collected like plastic bottles. 3)As the issue i am doing on is land pollution, the sculpture that i do can be just one that is placed on the ground.

1) yay first time drawing that bird and i drew it nicely. i prefer to use wooden pencils :P
2) ya..umm, i think the oil drops were a bit..."off" i guess i need to get some reference pics, cuz i do SO much better with models rather drawing something i imagined in my head...
3) i wish i knew more about the bird i drew (little egret), like a close encounter, cuz whenever i see it in the canal, it will just fly away before i can get a close look :(
i wish i could see what real oil splats look like. cuz i didnt know how to draw them, how the "flow" of it looked..
1) I am aware of the environment issue I am doing about and I am able to convey the message through my sclupture.
2) I feel that my drawing is not realistic enough.
3) I wish to learn more on landscape drawing and learn how to draw animals and make them look ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WhooooO!!!!!!!!!

For the kinetic sculpture,i'm currently researching on the possible materials to create it.It will probably be tricky though.Still i think that it would be fun and cool + challenging to try on something like that.:D
